Day One, DC to Prague

The two nonne

It's here! Finally, after applying to teach English in Poland (and being rejected), we are traveling to Poland via Prague, ostensibly to escort our friend Anne (who did get accepted to teach English) to her camp meetup in Krakow, but really, we just love to see new things.

Our flight was easy. Marty dropped us off at Dulles. We checked in and, discovering one of our carry on bags was overweight, decided to each check in our carry on bags. No regrets at all on that decision. We breezed through security, despite Nonna Laura's new Hoka shoes setting off the alarm. The overnight flight to Frankfurst on a Lufthansa A340-600 was awesome in that it had downstairs bathrooms. It was good to climb a flight of stairs on a long flight.

Transfer to the next flight was almost perfectly timed. We got on buses to go to the adjacent terminal, then waited about 30 minutes to get thru passport control, arriving at our gate just as boarding started. There was even time for the two nonne to sneak cups of coffee.

Upon arrival in Prague, we retrieved our bags, noting the Pilsner Urquell signage, and met Josef, our driver to our Old Prague House lodging. We checked in and learned that the building dated to 1480! Then it was off to explore the city.
